I joined Filtrona in August 2006 as sales manager for Payne in their North American office located in Richmond, VA. After completing a Marketing Management degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, I was looking for a large multinational organization that could offer an exciting and challenging career in market development or sales. I felt Filtrona was an attractive organization because of just how profitable it is per employee and given its geographic breadth, this was the first indication to me that they valued their employees. I also wanted to join a company where I would be given a real responsibility utilizing my degree, rather than joining a training program that built up employees to fill positions.

A year and a half in, I'm enjoying my decision to grow with Payne. Although the sales field may seem straight forward on a daily basis, I'm always striving to offer added value and innovative solutions to our prospective customers, rather than becoming just another one of their product suppliers. It's this part of the role I enjoy most; creating an idea then managing that project from beginning to end. It's incredibly satisfying.

I work in an ambitious environment filled with self-motivated colleagues and as Payne's market share progresses; I very much look forward to growing with it.
